The country parks and green spaces in Hong Kong are rich and beautiful, and allow for an abundance of hiking and outdoor activities right on our doorstep. This is a rare resource you can't find in most other big urban centres worldwide.
We are so lucky to have this. But these areas are constantly threatened by those who would like to expand the urban areas and build in our country parks, and by the litter left behind by irresponsible and careless tourists.
We have a duty to our community to protect the country parks. To do this, we must first experience them, learn about them, love them and then look at ways we can help to protect them.
During our MaD week, we will complete 5 different day hikes in and around Hong Kong. We will observe and learn about the natural diversity and look into some of the threats our country parks face.
Our Purpose
-
Appreciate and record the biodiversity of hong kong
-
To MaD to the trails in Hong Kong by safely collecting 1 bag of the litter as we hike.
In addition….
-
Students will be expected to produce a photo montage of the hikes and upload it to “Evidencer”.
-
We will produce a display for the reception area to raise awareness of the beautiful hikes and biodiversity available in Hong Kong.
