Passport / "China Return Permit Card" / HKID Card
-
The travel document is mainly a passport. The HKID card is NOT a recognised travel document for overseas countries.
-
China also recognises the "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Permanent Residents Card" & "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Permanent Residents Card (Non-Chinese Citizens)"(official name: "港澳居民來往內地通行證", a.k.a. "回鄉證" or "回鄉卡" or "港澳居民來往內地通行證(非中國籍)") as a travel document for people who are eligible to this "Card". Students holding a "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Permanent Residents Card" should use this "Card" to enter China. Please check CHINESE VISA APPLICATION SERVICE CENTER.

For security reasons, airlines are very stringent in matching names on air tickets and passports of travellers. Different names may result in students being refused boarding, penalties, or cancellation of the trip, without a refund.
-
Parents are responsible for all incurred expenses in such circumstances. We will request the passport information after the placements are announced.
-
If a student is holding more than one passport, he/she should upload the passport information that will be used for travelling during 'SIS goes MaD'.
Travel Visas
Information for travel visas is available on the individual trip page.
-
Parents and students are responsible for arranging their own travel visas if travel visas are required.
-
SIS can provide supporting documents, such as school letters, travel itineraries and travel insurance for visa applications. To request such documents, please email the trip administrator.
-
Application for visas requires extra time to process. Parents and students are recommended to arrange for travel visas early.
