Background
Yue Kwong Chuen (漁光村), established in the 1960s with a history spanning over 50 years, is undergoing redevelopment to enhance social welfare facilities for the Aberdeen community and the broader Southern District. For more information on the redevelopment project, please see the details HERE.
Yue Kwong Chuen has seen an increase in its ageing population, with some residents facing mobility challenges and requiring assistance during the relocation process. Many have lived in the area since their youth, where cherished memories are deeply intertwined.
Our students will serve as volunteers to assist in this meaningful endeavour, helping the elderly residents pack and declutter their homes as well as capture precious memories in their homes/estates through photographs.

-
Help the elderly residents with their transition process in the Yue Kwong Chuen urban rehousing project.
*Note: Introduction to the Yue Kwong Chuen urban redevelopment project will be made during the MaD Week trip meetings. It will help students understand more about housing issues in the HK community.
